Laura Buchanan is a Designer and Printmaker from Co.Donegal, Ireland. She completed a degree in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Ulster in 2008 and a Masters in Surface Pattern and Textile Design at the University of Central Lancashire in 2014.

She has received critical acclaim from a number of local and national publications and respected art institutions such as the ‘Royal Ulster Academy’, Belfast and ‘The RDS Visual Art Exhibition’, Dublin. Her surface pattern designs have been exhibited at the Indigo textile show in New York and purchased by US retail giant ‘Target’ for their homewares department.

Her work is an exploration of nostalgia through pattern, colour and vintage packaging and she finds inspiration from her Great Grandfather’s Grocery & Hardware Shop, which was open for business from 1907 to the mid 1980’s.
